Transforming lives through cricket

BEYOND BOUNDARIES

About Us

Life changing moments: the joy of your first cricket bat, the fun of a team, discovering life is about ability rather than disability or race, or being picked to play for your club or country – these are all what make sport so magical – at any level.

However, although sport creates common experiences for many, not everyone is lucky enough to be given those opportunities.

Beyond Boundaries is a young Scottish Charity which funds programmes that use cricket, in any of its forms, to transform the lives of young, disadvantaged and underrepresented people in Scotland.

Who We Are

  • Beyond Boundaries aims to help transform lives through cricket in any of its forms. We help young, disadvantaged and underrepresented people in Scotland to choose an active lifestyle and connect across cultures.

As well as promoting programmes of our own, we also aim to provide funding for programmes run by local communities/organisations underpinned by appropriate applications.

Recent magic moments for Scottish cricket include an historic win against England and qualifying for global tournaments at adult and junior levels. Moments like these inspire the next generation (and the existing one!) and they demonstrate that there are no boundaries to achievement for anyone.

Taking this passion and using it to spread sport wider, with a focus on inclusivity, is what we do, but we need funds to make it happen. If we can help more people - regardless of race, gender, ability or age - to push beyond their boundaries, then we will all be winners.

  • Our strongly collaborative approach includes maintaining and developing strong working relationships with, for example, Cricket Scotland, local community groups and other appropriate charities, businesses and government bodies. This ensures our activities best meet local needs and are delivered cost effectively.

We also actively encourage volunteering opportunities for young people from local communities, giving them opportunities to help build their self-confidence and employability skills.

“One of my top priorities as Sports Minister is to encourage more sports participation from groups that are currently under-represented. Beyond Boundaries is using cricket to do exactly this, so I’m delighted to support its launch and I look forward to seeing the results.” - Aileen Campbell, 2017
